5 Lippies to rock this Fall

It’s that time of the year! While summer screams fun and bright lips, Fall is the season to sport dark and vampy lips. Here are 5 shades to flaunt this season…

1. MAC Studded Kiss ($17)

This isn’t your typical classic red. It is a deep dark red with a hint of brown undertones that has a matte finish. It does fade like most lipstick but leaves a stain behind, and same as most MAC lipsticks, it has a vanilla scent.

2. Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in An Affair ($28)

When I heard that Laura is coming out with matte lipsticks, my heart skipped a beat! It claims to have a revolutionary MOISTURIZING matte finish. Not entirely true. For me, it is bordering a matte and a satin finish which makes it very comfortable on the lips. An Affair is a deep plum colour. I love how creamy these are with full pigmentation in just one swipe.

3. Urban Decay Matte Revolution in After Dark ($22)

Not to be confused with their original Revolution Lipsticks, this one comes in a MATTE finish. After Dark is described as a medium-dark berry pink. It is opaque and long-lasting. What I adore about this shade is that it has fine iridescent fuchsia pearls that makes it look somewhat “metallic”. This shade is similar to MAC Fashion Revival ($16) without the unique pearls. (as shown in the picture)

4. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen ($6)

One of the most sought after shades in the Soft Matte line. It has a mousse-like texture and dries into a true matte within a few minutes. Copenhagen is a gorgeous rich plum. You may need to apply a second layer to achieve your desired colour. It’s not heavy on the lips, affordable, and they smell like cupcakes!

5. Ofra MannyMUA Liquid Lipstick in Hypno ($19.90)

Described as an elegant burgundy. Though it looks deep red in the tube, on my skintone, it appears more of a brown. The formula is somehow similar to the NYX Soft Mattes except they don’t dry entirely matte. They are opaque and they smell like coconut.

You know the drill; if you have questions, feel free to ask them in the comments and I would gladly assist you.
